Lip filler cost in NYC: what a quote is made of

Ask three New York providers what lip filler costs and you may hear three different numbers, each counting something different. This page will not give you a price, because providers set their own. It gives you the one published national figure, what it leaves out, and the questions that turn a vague number into a quote you can compare.

Lip Filler NYC is a free referral service. We are not a medical provider, clinic or med spa, and we do not perform procedures or employ any providers. Prices are set by the providers alone, and we never see them. Nothing on this site is medical advice, or financial advice either.

The national figure, and how old it is

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons publishes fee statistics from a survey of its members. Its 2023 figures are the latest it has published for fillers: the national average surgeon/physician fee for lip augmentation with injectable materials was USD 698. The separate line for hyaluronic acid fillers, which covers more than lips, was USD 715. ASPS published no filler fees in its 2024 or 2025 reports.

What the figure is, and is not

It is a national average of the injector’s fee from a members’ survey, and it is a few years old. It is not a New York price, not a quote, and not what any provider on the other end of this site charges.

Why New York quotes differ

ASPS says fees vary with the provider’s experience, the type of procedure and where the office is. With lip filler, a few more things move the number.

How many syringes

Lip filler is usually priced per syringe, and Cleveland Clinic gives about 1 mL as a typical amount. Someone asking for a hint of hydration and someone asking for a clearly fuller lip may need different amounts, so ask whether the quote is per syringe, per visit or per treatment plan. If you are wondering whether less is an option, read our note on the half syringe.

Which product

Several hyaluronic acid gels are FDA-approved for lip augmentation in adults, and they are not priced the same. A provider should name the product, show you the sealed, labeled syringe and say why they chose it for you.

Who injects

New York law treats filler injections as medical work requiring a health-care licence. You may be treated by a physician or by a nurse working under a regimen a licensed provider prescribed. Ask who will actually inject you and whether that changes the fee.

Where in the city

Office location is one of the factors ASPS names. An office on the Upper East Side, in Midtown or in Tribeca is not automatically more or less than one elsewhere; compare what each quote includes. Our Manhattan guide covers what to check wherever you go.

What a quote may leave out

  • A consultation fee, and whether it is credited toward treatment.
  • The check-in about two weeks later, when the result has settled.
  • A small extra amount if you and the provider decide to add some at that check-in.
  • Dissolving with hyaluronidase if something needs correcting; see dissolving lip filler.
  • Repeat treatment, since filler is temporary and the clinical studies followed people for about a year.

The real cost is over a year, not one visit

Because the body absorbs filler over time, the first fee is rarely the whole story. Ask how long the product they suggest lasted in its clinical study, and how often their clients usually return. Our page on how long lip filler lasts sets out what the FDA summaries say. If you only want a small change in how the upper lip sits, a lip flip is a different treatment with a different fee and a shorter life.

Price red flags

A low price is not a problem on its own. These are.

  • Filler sold online or straight to you to inject yourself. The FDA says not to buy it; versions labeled Juvederm® Ultra 2, 3 and 4 that are sold online are not FDA-approved. (JUVEDERM® is a registered trademark of Allergan, Inc., an AbbVie company.)
  • Needle-free filler pens. The FDA has not approved them for filler and warns against them.
  • A provider who will not name the product or show you the sealed syringe.
  • Treatment by someone without a medical licence. In New York, estheticians may not inject.
  • Pressure to decide today, or to buy more syringes than you asked about.

The most serious risk of any lip filler is gel entering a blood vessel, which can damage skin and, rarely, cause blindness or stroke. Paying less is never worth giving up a provider who is trained to recognize that and keeps hyaluronidase close at hand.

Questions that make two quotes comparable

  1. Is this price per syringe, per visit or for a plan?
  2. Which FDA-approved product is it, and how much of it?
  3. Who will inject me, and what licence do they hold?
  4. Is there a consultation fee, and is it credited if I go ahead?
  5. Is the two-week check included, and what does adding a little more then cost?
  6. If something needs dissolving, what would that cost?
  7. Can I have the quote in writing?

Write the answers down for each provider. The quote with the most answers in writing is usually the easiest one to trust.

This site gives general information, not medical advice. Whether lip filler is right for you is for a licensed provider who has examined you to say. In an emergency, call 911.

Before you book, look up the injector’s licence on the NYSED Office of the Professions verification search.

Questions people ask

How much is lip filler in NYC?

Providers set their own prices, and this site lists none. The only published national figure is the ASPS 2023 national average surgeon/physician fee for lip augmentation with injectable materials, USD 698, for the injector’s fee alone.

Is lip filler priced per syringe?

Usually, per Cleveland Clinic, which gives about 1 mL as a typical amount. Ask each provider how they price it and what the price includes.

Is there a fee to send a request here?

No. A request through Lip Filler NYC costs nothing. A consultation may carry its own fee, so ask the provider.

Why does ASPS have no newer lip filler figure?

Its 2024 report switched to ranges for surgery and has no filler fees, and its 2025 report has no fee table. The 2023 figures are the latest published for fillers.
